What is the MNS exam?
Military Nursing Service is an examination for female candidates who are willing to join the Indian Armed Forces. This is an excellent opportunity for girls who want to be part of the Indian military and serve as nursing officers. Military Nursing Service is a short service commission that means to serve for at least 5 years. According to the service and according to the interest and service of the candidate, service is extendable to a total tenure of 14 years (5+5+4).
The MNS examination has three tiers, namely- (a) Written Test, (B) Interview, (C) Medical Exam.
In MNS, two preliminary medical examinations are done, i.e., X-RAY examination of the chest and USG (Ultra Sonography of the abdomen).
The shortlisted candidates will go under the examination of physical fitness. This examination is taken by the medical board of the office of Directorate General Armed Force Medical Services.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
Qualification:
Bsc Nursing/PB ( Post Basic ) Bsc Nursing/Msc Nursing degree from the Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized University. It should be registered Nurse and Midwife from any State Nursing Council.
Gender Eligibility- Female
Age Eligibility-
- 17 to 25 years.

- Single / Married / Legally separated / Divorcee / Widow
Physical Fitness :
Pregnant candidates will be marked as rejected with the note as temporarily medically unfit at the medical examination and joining for the commission. There is no issue for pregnant candidates at the time of written examination.
