UES stands for university entry scheme. This scheme was started in 1950. By UES scheme candidates are shortlisted for permanent commission in xecutive (GS) branch and SSC in technical and executive branches. Applicants should be in the final year in an AICTE recognized university.
A candidate must be either
(1) A citizen of India
(2) A subject to Nepal or Bhutan
(3) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1962 intending to settle in India permanently
(4) A person who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the east African countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
21 to 24 years.
Men and Women ( women are eligible for pilot, observer, naval architecture only)
Candidates finally selected for UES will be officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo 22 weeks
Naval Orientation Course at the INA, Ezhimala , followed by professional training Establishments In case of executive general service entry course duration of NOC at INA would be 44 weeks.
